Stuck for something to do across Easter weekend? Not anymore. Ditch your plans to ‘have a quiet one’ and make the most of limited edition Sunday roasts, traditional afternoon teas with themed drinks and Ferrero Roche cocktails with DesignMyNight’s round-up of the best things to do in the capital. There’s something for everyone, from wild ball pit parties with free chocolate vodka to catching up with your crew while slathering scones with clotted cream and jam.
Is it even Easter weekend if you didn’t eat chocolate? Probably not; but instead of eating your chocolate this year, why not drink it. Still with us? The Chocolate Cocktail Club is as indulgent as it gets and for the weekend in question they’ve created a whole host of new beverages that are sure to satisfy your sweet tooth. There’s a Mini Egg martini (naturally), the pink rabbit that comes with a cloud of candy floss and a Caramac that’s sure to blow your rabbit patterned socks off.
Crispy roasters, jugs of gravy, juicy meat; Sunday roasts are epic in their own right. Some of you would argue that home cooked is best (who knows how you like things done best other than you), but Benares will give you a run for your money on Sunday 9th April. The chefs have been hard at work to bring new dishes to the menu for one day only, including slow cooked spiced lamb leg and an indulgent Easter hot chocolate bomb dessert. It’s not to be missed.
What does Celine, Dua Lipa and Miley Cyrus all have in common? They’re all going to be playing at 100 Wardour Street on Easter Sunday. Okay, not actually playing but their best tunes will be blasted out from the speakers at the venue’s Girl Power Edition Brunch. Three courses start from £35 and you can add on free-flowing fizz for £20 a pop. Tuck into eggs benedict, blackened cajun spice salmon burritos and buttermilk pancakes while you let your hair down to non-stop tunes.
If there’s one venue that can bring the party day and night, it’s Ballie Ballerson. The viral ball pit bar that we all love to love is gearing up for a big weekend this Easter. All tickets come with a complimentary chocolate vodka shot and they’ll have an onsite Easter bunny who will be responsible for an egg hunt and games of limbo where you can win all sorts of boozy prizes. And with plenty of sweet-themed cocktails on the menu, there’s no better place to celebrate the end of Lent.
Afternoon tea isn’t synonymous with Easter but in our books, it is. For the bank holiday weekend Montague on the Gardens are running their traditional afternoon tea menu but with a themed cocktail to celebrate. Take to their Georgian townhouse and if the weather decides to be on its best behaviour see if there’s space and take your tea on their garden terrace. Arrive hungry and fill up on hand-cut sandwiches, warm scones and sugary treats for a wholesome handful of hours in the city.
