During his time is Ireland, he began teaching others about the religion. He is said to have converted many Irish residents to Christianity and as a reminder of his life and teachings, St. Patricks Day is celebrated on the day of his death.

Although it is not a British public holiday, several St. Patrick’s Day events take place throughout England on the day.
