We’ve been forced to stay home, and yet whilst being so far apart, wi-fi has given us all a deeper connection. You may have a blog, business or brand and are perhaps finding it difficult to create content from home. That’s where we at Cohorted are bringing you five quick ways to create great content from home no matter your niche, brand or business. Get behind the scenes
Show your audience, readers and customers how you get the perfect shot, create the product or how you go from start to finish. You’d be surprised to know that most of us are inquisitive creatures with a desire to know more (or we’re just nosey). Here are some ideas for shooting behind the scenes content:
– Timelapse (Set a camera up on record and speed it up when you’ve finished)
– Instagram or Facebook live whilst you do the said activity/service
– Brainstorm – snippets from your notebooks about ideas that have or haven’t come to fruition

Go live
Going live on a scheduled day of the week (or month, if this is too much) is a great way to informally connect with your audience. You can do this where you have the largest audience or perhaps switch it up and test a platform you have never used before. Live content has a 24-hour lifespan so it’s not something you have to worry about greatly.
Here are some tips on how you can become successful with going live:
– Collaborate with others similar to you -> This opens up another audience
– Collaborate with others who are different to you -> Skill/knowledge exchange
– Save your live video by screen recording them and that way you can repurpose this content

Time to shoot
Who said you need a top of the range camera to get the perfect shot? Shooting from home is free and is the perfect opportunity to experiment. Play around with light and composition, don’t be afraid to do things ‘by the book’ especially when it’s only costing your time.
So, here are some ideas on what props you could use:
– Texture and fabrics, you have lying around e.g a fluffy rug, satin, a textured wall
– Invest in a tripod with a Bluetooth remote to make shooting easier
– There are no rules to lighting, shadow and composition

– Pics Art

If in doubt, seek help from YouTube or ask a friend with knowledge of design/editing.

Ask questions
Finally, ask your audience what they want to see from you. Utilise polls, ask simple questions and look at stats to see what has been doing well.
Don’t forget to have fun in the process.
