I don’t know about you, but I’ve spent a significant portion of 2020 snuggled under a blanket. Let’s face it, in-between working from home, binge watching Emily in Paris or stuffing our faces with takeout, there’s not much else to do – and all of the above are only made better when you’re swaddled in a ginormous fuzzy throw.
If, like me, your flat’s temperature is comparable to a harsh Mongolian winter, you’ll know that blankets are not only an easy way to transform a living space, but a necessary addition throughout the colder months.
A distant cousin of the ever-popular teddy coat, this faux shearling blanket is just begging to be snuggled under. I can’t see why you’d ever want to hide the fuzzy side, but it’s reversible too (this is a fantastic justification for any grumpy boyfriends who don’t understand why you’re spending seventy quid on another blanket – two for the price of one!).
I’m slightly obsessed with all things teal and pink at the moment and this is no exception. This super soft throw is crafted from pure, yarn-dyed cotton and features a bold geometric print, perfect to liven up any sofa. There are even matching cushions, too.
Another winner from Zara Home, this gorgeous faux fur throw is a little pricier but will inject a touch of opulence to any room. Plus, you can use it as a cape whilst you make your tea and pretend you’re in Game of Thrones.
2020 – the year we tie–dyed EVERYTHING. Our sweatpants, crop tops, socks, and now our blankets. With the option of hand-dyed soft peach or vibrant turquoise, this lightweight cotton blanket might not be the most snuggly, but I guarantee it will look gorgeous slung over the back of your sofa.
Although yellow isn’t for everyone, this bright zebra print blanket is the perfect statement piece if you’re looking to inject a bit of colour in an otherwise dull room. Woven from soft lambswool, it’s thick enough to keep you cosy at night whilst still being comfortably lightweight.
If you’re not into bright colours and a self-confessed neutrals queen like myself, adding different textures is a great way to liven things up. In a soft, natural white, this blanket’s bouclé weave will add a touch of chic cosiness to any sofa or bedroom.
Another investment piece, this is one for the zodiac lovers (haven’t we all become a bit obsessed with our horoscopes this year? TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO ME IN 2020, MYSTIC MEG!!) This huge cosmic blanket features every star sign, with a multi-coloured fringe trim around each edge.
