Transitioning Your Home For Spring

Here we share the top spring interior design trends and how to transition your home for the Spring with fresh scents and neutral colours.

Soon we’re going to be saying goodbye to Winter; the frosty mornings and the bitter cold. Although it’s been quite a while since we’ve packed up the Christmas decorations, the Fir Tree and Winter scented candles are still very much burning up until February time in this household. However, Spring is on its way and with us spending more and more time at home, here’s a couple of small ways you can bring Spring into your home.

Switch to Neutrals

With Christmas and Winter, I find our flat filled with reds, greens and whites. But with Spring I start introducing a couple of neutral shades and also pops of neutral colour toned piecesBlush pink, beige, light greys and light greens are the perfect shades to bring some Spring colours into your home without going too heavy into the colour palettes.

H&M as always have some incredible seasonal homeware pieces including; Dusky Pink Cushion Cover with TasselsLight Khaki Green Cotton Cushion Cover  and some beige staple pieces including this gorgeous Ceramic Vase.

Another store with gorgeous home season interiors is Zara Home. Switch up your dining room with the lovely Floral Earthenware Tableware set, which looks as though it has been lifted straight from the pages of an Enid Blyton book. Covered in beautiful floral decorations, its simplicity makes it both elegant yet perfect for daytoday. Their Mauve Earthenware Tableware set is gorgeous too (can you have too much pink in your home?).

Switch to Fresh & Floral Scents

With the cinnamon candles firmly back in their boxes, adding back those fresh and floral scents into your home is the perfect way to bring Spring back. The entirety of The White Company Peony Collection is that idyllic Spring scent, with candles, diffusers and even handwashes/hand creams for your bathrooms. You can have the combination of fresh peonies, white roses and honeysuckle throughout your home.

There are hundreds of small businesses around who sell candles and one of my favourites include Apothecary64, a local Welsh company (they deliver UK wide) have gorgeous candles. They too have a Peony scented candle and one of my other favourites is the Penarth Pier a local beach and Pier area in Wales. What says Spring more than the fresh scent of sea salt and sunshine?

Introduce Florals

Whether it’s fresh flowers or, all the new rage, baked/dried flowers. Adding actual florals into your home rather than just planting floral scents not only brightens up your home but fills it with those actual scentsSome of my favourite places online to purchase flowers include Bloom and WildZing Flowers and also Interflora to help your local businesses too. You can get £10 off your first Bloom & Wild with Cohorted’s code “CH38APFor flowers that last longer than your average supermarket flower, dried flowers have become all the rage. Happy Blossoms have a gorgeous range of flowers varying in different colours to fit your home and your style.
