F**K THE FILTERS

[eltd_dropcaps type=”normal” color=”” background_color=””]W[/eltd_dropcaps]hen was the last time you scrolled through your Instagram feed and honestly felt good about yourself? Don’t get me wrong, I love ogling Bella Hadid’s bikini pics as much as the next person, but let’s be honest – the way she looks is pretty unattainable for those of us who are quite partial to a Krispy Kreme or two (or five, or six…).
Upon discovering that I was averaging a shocking five hours and twelve minutes (I KNOW?!) a day scrolling through the addictive app, I decided it was time to cultivate a more realistic feed. If I was going to spend that long staring at other people, why not make sure they were making me feel good? Of course, I’m still admiring Emily Ratajkowski and Hailey Bieber’s chiselled abs from afar, but I’m quick to remind myself that there are millions of others whose thighs are just as squishy as mine. So, here are some of my favourite people to follow for a much-needed, daily dose of self-love:
The Benefits of Tamanu Oil

[eltd_dropcaps type=”normal” color=”” background_color=””]T[/eltd_dropcaps]here seems to be new trending ingredients popping-up in skincare all the time; some are natural, some are manmade. Though something which unifies them in similarity is the common focus on aiming to improve the appearance of skin which has either aged or been damaged by both environmental and physical external factors.
Within the last 3 years or so, the K-beauty market has begun to rekindle the appreciation of homegrown ingredients native to Korea itself or South Asia in general. This involves resurfacing ancient natural remedies, which are indeed trustworthy and safe for use; this of course excludes herbal remedies or some aspects of Hanbang (Korean Traditional Medicine/Therapy), which have since been debunked of being beneficial.
Tips to Tackle Your Hangover

[eltd_dropcaps type=”normal” color=”” background_color=””]A[/eltd_dropcaps]s lockdown rules are easing and bottomless brunches are back in full swing, a lot of us are suffering the effects of one too many G&T’s on a Friday night, after many weeks of being out of practice. Although we cannot promise to fix the post-night-out beer fear or the 2 am pictures on your camera roll you cannot remember, here are some hangover tips to help you feel slightly more human the morning after.
8 Activities You Can Enjoy at Home This Summer

[eltd_dropcaps type=”normal” color=”” background_color=””]A[/eltd_dropcaps]fter months on end of staying at home, it can seem a little scary when it comes to venturing out again. The UK is slowing coming to terms with a new normal across socialising, dining out, holidays and schools, but it’s easier for some to adapt to than others.
If you’re feeling like you wish to take it slow, that’s totally acceptable. It’s the British Summer season and there is plenty you can enjoy doing at home while the lighter days are here, and the warmer weather is in tow.
Of course, if you have children, it can be slightly harder as little ones need a lot of entertaining and sometimes, the things you have at home don’t seem to quite cut it. Here, we’ve put together 10 activities that are worth adding to your ‘to do’ list for the upcoming weeks, especially if you’re running out of fun ideas yourself. Each one is adaptable to do on your own, as a couple, or as a family.
Now You’re Speaking My [Love] Language

[eltd_dropcaps type=”normal” color=”” background_color=””]E[/eltd_dropcaps]veryone experiences love differently, but the key to building and bettering a relationship is to understand how best to show affection.
The concept of love languages was first discussed by Gary Chapman, Ph.D, in 1995, and was borne out of his experiences as a relationship counsellor. These five ‘languages’ outline different ways of expressing and receiving love and include:

How To Plan The Ultimate Picnic

[eltd_dropcaps type=”normal” color=”” background_color=””]E[/eltd_dropcaps]veryone’s lives have been put on hold in one way or another during this global pandemic and whilst it’s been pretty tough, there’s finally a little light at the end of the tunnel…
Lockdown in the UK is slowly beginning to lift, just in time for us to still make the most of our summer and what better way to enjoy the sunshine in the UK than with a picnic? That’s when we get some of course… Whether you’re catching up with a friend who you haven’t seen in months or just fancy getting out of the house with your loved ones, you can’t go wrong with a picnic, even if it has to be socially distanced.
Summer Lovin’

[eltd_dropcaps type=”normal” color=”” background_color=””]Y[/eltd_dropcaps]ou’ve binge-watched Normal People, developed a mild case of repetitive strain injury from swiping left on boys who are ‘just looking for a quarantine buddy ;)’ and Love Island 2020 (much like my own love life) is cancelled.
If you’re a hopeless romantic like myself and need your fix of summer lovin’ in the absence of skin-tight white jeans peacocking around a firepit (I mock, but I’ve never missed an episode), then pick up a love story.
A 5-Day Self-Care and Relaxation Challenge

[eltd_dropcaps type=”normal” color=”” background_color=””]L[/eltd_dropcaps]et’s face it… 2020 has not been a great year for us all. There has been so much anxiety, uncertainty and worry that it’s not surprising a lot of people feel emotionally exhausted and drained.
If that’s you, then know you’re not alone!
Veganism isn’t Just Another Fleeting Trend

[eltd_dropcaps type=”normal” color=”” background_color=””]C[/eltd_dropcaps]hoosing to be vegan is not some new millennial trend that will fade away once we all ‘grow out of it’. People have been choosing to avoid eating meat and other animal products for around 2000 years. Vegetarianism can even be traced back to 500 BC where Pythagoras (yes, the same philosopher and mathematician who taught us about triangles) promoted kindness to all species.
Sure, in the last few years there has been an incredible surge of people making the switch to veganism, but that’s only because the way in which we are communicating with one another has become so instant. In 2019 there were 600,000 recorded vegans in the UK, which is quadruple the amount recorded in 2016.
