Plastic Free July: Be Part of the Solution

[eltd_dropcaps type=”normal” color=”” background_color=””]J[/eltd_dropcaps]uly is Plastic-Free Month and with the current pandemic causing the use of single-use plastics to skyrocket again, the timing couldn’t be better.

Like most people, I’m increasingly anxious about plastic consumption – both on a global level and on a personal level. Going plastic-free is one of the most effective ways to contribute positively to our planet. I know my habits were selfish, lazy, and unsustainable – but going all-in seems a bit like jumping into the deep end, and to be honest, is so far outside of my comfort zone that it seems equally unsustainable.

So, for Plastic Free Month this July, here are five steps you can take to reduce my plastic consumption and make my life more green:

Finding your Style when Charity Shopping

[eltd_dropcaps type=”normal” color=”” background_color=””]T[/eltd_dropcaps]here is a myth that every charity shop will smell, be overcrowded and dirty… and I can confirm this is completely true, but their positives outweigh these minor “issues”. There is definitely still a stigma surrounding charity shops; the idea of digging through old people’s clothes doesn’t exactly equate to the simplicity of exploring the ‘New In’ section of Topshop – but it is far more fun and rewarding.

Don’t Put Yourself On Hold

[eltd_dropcaps type=”normal” color=”” background_color=””]W[/eltd_dropcaps]hen the odds are against you and you feel as though you’re not getting anywhere any time soon, don’t give up. This is a great time for growth, we just have to build a bit of courage and break through the barriers. This has been an incredibly hard time for us all. We’ve all had different coping mechanisms to deal with this (some much better than others but either way, we’re in it together) but with that being said, we’ve got through the worst of it. We can continue to move forward.

How To Keep Productive Whilst You WFH

[eltd_dropcaps type=”normal” color=”” background_color=””]W[/eltd_dropcaps]orking from home can be challenging, especially if you’re used to working in an office or sociable environment, and even more so with children around. It can be difficult to maintain the levels of focus and productivity needed to do a good job and can, at times, cause or worsen anxiety, burn out and stress.

However, there are many things you can do to make working from home more manageable. I have included 8 tips below that are proven to increase productivity, focus, and help you work your best life from home.

Important Life Factors

[eltd_dropcaps type=”normal” color=”” background_color=””]T[/eltd_dropcaps]here’s never not a ‘right’ time to learn these 7 key factors of life. When you feel like you’re on top of the world or when you’re at the lowest of lows, acknowledging the 7 factors of wellness and understanding how to utilise their purpose to your personal life, will easily enhance the great times and allow you to pick up from the bad ones.

Each factor is just as important than the other, but some will be more relevant and more important in our day to day lives. There’s nowhere to say you have to be perfect at all 7, it’s just a guideline on how to live a healthy, happy and mindful lifestyle.

Why you need to Marie Kondo your life

[eltd_dropcaps type=”normal” color=”” background_color=””]W[/eltd_dropcaps]hilst we continue to spend time in isolation, the more we notice around us. You pick up on messy things you may not have noticed until you spend every working day sat in front that hideous, overcrowded bookcase (the one you throw all your clutter onto). With spring creeping towards and more time on our hands, there’s no better time than now to release your inner Marie Kondo and cleanse every inch of your life.
