Staying Sane in Isolation

[eltd_dropcaps type=”normal” color=”” background_color=””]I[/eltd_dropcaps]t’s now been – ahem – a while since Boris announced the country-wide lockdown, with the entire of the U.K.’s non-essential workforce suddenly working from home full time.

After the initial giddiness at the prospect of an extra half an hour in bed, not having to battle the rush hour Northern Line twice a day, and a new work wardrobe comprising mainly loungewear and sliders, the reality of the situation settled in.

Stepping Out of My Comfort Zone

[eltd_dropcaps type=”normal” color=”” background_color=””]T[/eltd_dropcaps]his New Year, I took the phrase ‘start as you mean to go on’ and ran with it.

Ending 2019 working in retail left me feeling a bit deflated. I knew that I was never going to let it become my life, but I’d graduated university in the summer and I guess I expected more. So, when the opportunity to venture abroad arose, I knew it was my ticket out of this slump and to somewhere I could really push myself.

5 Top Tips for Going Vegan

[eltd_dropcaps type=”normal” color=”” background_color=””]H[/eltd_dropcaps]ave you been thinking about going vegan for a while now but just need a little nudge? Because what about bacon?!

I’ve been vegan for over a year and a half now and if 3 years ago you had said to me “you’ll be Vegan and never want to eat meat again,”… I would have laughed. Hard. I was a big meat and cheese fan. My transition to a Vegan lifestyle didn’t happen instantly. It was a slow process which took about 4 months. I started by being Pescatarian, then Vegetarian and then Vegan apart from a cheese pizza on a Saturday- until I really didn’t want that cheese pizza anymore. Which brings me to my first tip.

A reason to exercise, that has nothing to do with looks

[eltd_dropcaps type=”normal” color=”” background_color=””]I[/eltd_dropcaps] used to be, quite firmly, anti-exercise. I was literally the nemesis of exercise. Sure, I knew in theory that it was supposed to make you feel better, look better, blah blah blah. But hating exercise became a part of my personality so deeply ingrained that it was almost a reflex to wince at the thought.

Mothers Day in our house is a double celebration!

[eltd_dropcaps type=”normal” color=”” background_color=””]I[/eltd_dropcaps]t might surprise you, but one of the questions I’m often asked is ‘how do you celebrate Mothers Day as a two mum family?’, usually followed with ‘does one of you take Mothers Day and the other Fathers Day?’… So, I thought seeing as it’s nearly Mothers Day, I’d share a bit about our family.

A Tribute to Mothers Day

This post is about mum’s and I won’t move away from that, but I want to open with something my dad would actually say every year whilst I was growing up, when we’d talk about celebrating mother’s day… “Mother’s day is everyday! Every day you should be spoiling and loving your mum, it shouldn’t just be on one day.” But since growing up, mother’s day has meant more. Why not have a day to go all out and spoil your mum to show her just how much she means to you? Everyday IS mother’s day, but mother’s day isn’t everyday. So spoil your mum, give her the biggest hug and remind her just how much she means to you.
