DC FanDome – an online event happening this Saturday- is set to tease the upcoming DC projects in both film and comics – including the Batman movie scheduled for release in 2022. Batman is beloved in the comics however in terms of film adaptations, audiences were not impressed by Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice back in 2016 with it receiving a 29% on Rotten Tomatoes. DC films might not be as big as the Marvel Cinematic Universe but will that change once Robert Pattinson takes on the role of Batman?  Yes, Robert Patterson. The actor who captured the hearts of many teens as the sparkling vampire, Edward Cullen, back in 2008 with Twilights debut. With the exciting release of the Batman trailer, let’s look back on Robert Patterson’s movie credits.   

Robert Pattinson has appeared in a few films since Twilight with The Lighthouse (2019) and Tenet (2020) being some of his more recent appearances – both films scoring higher than 7 out 10 on IMDB. Yet the early 2000’s film franchise is still his most notable work to date with many fans admitting to rewatching the film franchise in recent years. With Stephine Meyer recently releasing a new book titled Midnight Sun to tell the tale of Twilight from Edward’s perspective, the Twilight Saga is definitely not dying out. Back in 2015, Twilight had a heavy influence on goth fashion and beauty with many fans swooping down to get the look of both the Cullens and Bella. Though those who reported rewatching the films found that many parts “didn’t age well” and finding the films “cringey”, that doesn’t mean that the Twilight franchise isn’t going to be one of the first things in viewers’ minds when watching the new trailer. Will movie-goers be able to separate the two or will the sparkling vampire be Batman’s greatest enemy? So while Twilight fans might not be too keen after rewatching the movies, DC fans are gearing up for his future role as Batman. No pressure Robert.  

Bruce Wayne, better known as Batman, is known to be one of the few superheroe’s who doesn’t have a superpower. Instead, he has money. Enough money for a collection of gadgets to take down his enemies like The Joker and The Riddler as he fights for justice after witnessing the murder of his parents. Since his first appearance in 1939, his popularity as not only a character but a symbol of justice only continues to rise.

A teaser trailer has been released to get fans hyped up for Saturday and Twitter has already taken to saying that he has “absolutely nailed the batman voice!”
