An adventure abroad might feel like a distant memory at this point, but if you know where to go, a UK staycation can offer just as much excitement, beauty, and wonder.

We’ve got together some staycation inspiration for a UK Summer:

Westward Ho, Devon

Cromer has a lot to offer in terms of restaurants, in particular its award-winning fish and chip eatery ‘NO1 Cromer’. Nearby is port town Wells-next-the-Sea, where you can go alpaca trekking along the coast and catch the Wells Harbour Railway to the expansive stretch of beach for the day.

Whitby

Whitby, Yorkshire

Famous for its links to Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Whitby has always embraced its associations with Gothic culture, reflected in the town’s quirky cobbled streets, shops and Abbey ruins, which inspired the legendary horror novel. Rich in history, people come from all over the world to count the infamous Abbey steps (all 199 of them!), and the Endeavour Experience where you can learn about the notorious voyager Captain James Cook, who lived and learned his craft in the Yorkshire seaside town.

Prestatyn, North Wales

Famed for its golden beach ‘sunny Prestatyn’, in North Wales, is a classic seaside holiday destination for everyone. It has an abundance of shops in its town centre, beachfront cycle routes, along with an aquarium and arcade (for the full experience!). A ten-minute drive away is the coastal village of Talacre, where you can stay by the sea in Talacre Beach Resort, go on horse treks along the seafront or simply sunbathe.

Conwy Town

Conwy Town, Wales

World heritage site Conwy Town is home to one of the most magnificent medieval fortresses in Europe. Conwy Castle was built by Edward I between 1283 and 1289 – around 783 years ago! You can visit the gateway to Snowdonia, Bewts-y-Coed, famous for its attractions such as Swallow Falls and surrounding Gwydyr Forest. For the thrill seekers out there, you can experience the fastest zip line in the worlds at Zip World Snowdonia or hike up Mount Snowdon.
