Step Into Spring: Fashion Week Trends To Follow
Not only are there some exciting new trends hitting the catwalk, but some favourite trends of the past are back.
Despite being stuck indoors for the majority of winter, that didn’t stop fashion junkies from participating in as many fashion trends as possible. It was a case of taking every opportunity to dress up and feel good about yourself, even if it was just for a daily walk or trip to Aldi.
There’s no reason not to bring the same attitude into spring, and ultimately purchase a whole new wardrobe. Again. Not only are there some exciting new trends hitting the catwalk, but some favourite trends of the past are back.
SWEET LIKE CANDY
Spring is arguably the best season for fashion, and this trend proves it. Bright colours are a form of therapy and come back into fashion every spring/summer. Think raspberry pink and lemon yellow, bringing vibrancy to an ultimately dull year.

BRALETTES
A simple but statement piece, bralettes rocked the runway this season. Whether it’s simple monochromatic look or patchwork and jewel encrusted, there’s endless styling possibilities with a skimpy bralette. Slip on an oversized blazer for that supermodel style.

SHEER ROMANCE
It’s all about showing skin this season, in timeless maxi dresses. The runway was head to toe in sheer statement pieces including floor length gowns, capes and slip dresses. Sheer makes an appearance every now and again, but this year it’s full throttle romance and glamour. We just can’t get enough.

BIG & BAGGY
Sorry skinny jean lovers, but loose, balloon trousers are here to stay. Weather it’s a simple pair of jeans or a take on dress pants, the baggier the better where this trend is concerned. Since being stuck in lockdown loungewear, most people aren’t ready to leave comfort behind and fashion week designers made sure that comfy can be chic.

COOL IN CORSETS
Whether they’re dying for that synched waist look or living out their wildest period drama fantasies, everyone has gone crazy for this trend. Both corset belts and fitted corset tops/dresses have made their way on to this season’s runway, for effortless, structured style.

LET’S TALK LOW RISE
Yes, the dreaded low rise trouser is back. People can’t seem to get over Paris Hilton rocking the look in her heyday. It’s a controversial one for sure, but don’t knock it till you try it. These designers turned the 90’s fashion faux pas into a trend to die for.

MIDRIFF FLOSSING
New to the fashion lexicon this season, midriff flossing is a concept where string is attached to a top or trousers and wrapped around the body as many times as you please. The exposed ab fashion statement is most commonly seen on the Jenner’s or Hadid’s, however is making its way onto the high street this season.
