Take a Hike

[eltd_dropcaps type=”normal” color=”” background_color=””]L[/eltd_dropcaps]ike the entire human race throughout 2020, a few weeks ago, I found myself in a total rut. Call me dramatic, but not one single part of my life seemed to be going to plan and the only thing I needed was to be horizontal on a beach with a large cocktail in hand, but Miss Rona had very different ideas.
Exercising Outside this Winter: Protect Your Skin

[eltd_dropcaps type=”normal” color=”” background_color=””]W[/eltd_dropcaps]e’ve all found solace in exercise this year, what with the world falling apart and all. So, now those darker nights are upon us and gyms could potentially close again – it looks like we’re sticking to those road runs and outdoor workouts.
Exercise for the body, mind and soul

[eltd_dropcaps type=”normal” color=”” background_color=””]A[/eltd_dropcaps]s lockdown continues to keep us on our toes with its ever-changing guidelines, some things have got to give and for many of us, it’s our running momentum that seems to have gotten a little lost along the way…
Understanding Macros: The long-term health solution that will transform your life

[eltd_dropcaps type=”normal” color=”” background_color=””]T[/eltd_dropcaps]he word “macro” can be an instant turn-off. For those of you who are beginners to the world of nutrition and understanding how to correctly fuel your bodies, the whole concept can seem really daunting. You might find yourself turning away from the perceived complexity of how it all actually works. But no fear, as it is so much simpler than you may think. After breaking it down into bitesize pieces (pardon the pun), understanding macros can be really beneficial to your fitness goals. Let’s have a nibble shall we (sorry but you had that one coming).

A Beginners Guide to Running

[eltd_dropcaps type=”normal” color=”” background_color=””]I[/eltd_dropcaps]n the current climate, I’ve found myself looking for a number of escapes – from bulk baking cookies (54 to be exact, in a household of two) to binge reading a book cover-to-cover in two days (440 pages, and I rarely read).
The scariest temptation was running and seeing a number of friends and fitness fanatics claiming it was the best way to a clear head, I really wanted to give it a try. Running for me is big thing – as a teenager I loved it, ran every day and was even a qualified coach. At the start of 2020 however, a solid 10 years on, you wouldn’t even catch me running up the stairs.
CrossFit: What is it really about?

[eltd_dropcaps type=”normal” color=”” background_color=””]S[/eltd_dropcaps]ix weeks before my two-week holiday with family and friends, who hadn’t seen me in a bikini for about a decade – I realised I needed to sort my body out, fast.
After years of eating whatever I wanted with minimal consequences, I suddenly realised I was 27 and this was no longer an option, I wasn’t happy with the way I looked. I was by no means overweight, but I had a few too many rolls on my stomach and my arms and legs wobbled a little more than I would have liked.
Following my sudden realisation, I was having a little moan in the work kitchen, when a friend of mine – who has the best body EVER – told me about what she does, CrossFit.
Is HIIT really the best way to torch those calories?

[eltd_dropcaps type=”normal” color=”” background_color=””]H[/eltd_dropcaps]igh Intensity Interval Training. Hearing the word HIIT is set to either get you pumped to join in or running for cover. But by now, the majority of us have come across the fat-blasting form of fitness in one way or another. Is it really the magic form of training we all need to be doing? And if you’re on the latter end of the spectrum running for cover, is there another solution?
Falling in Love with Fitness

[eltd_dropcaps type=”normal” color=”” background_color=””]T[/eltd_dropcaps]his year, I’ve only got room for one man in my life; and his name is Barry.
Since ending my love affair with Ben and Jerry (sorry boys), after a particularly indulgent festive period, I took the plunge and joined my first ever Barry’s Bootcamp class. It fast became one of the best decisions I have ever made.
A Guide to Home Workouts in Lockdown

[eltd_dropcaps type=”normal” color=”” background_color=””]I[/eltd_dropcaps] know you’re probably sick of hearing it, but doing exercise does come with massive health benefits, both physically and mentally – which is well needed, especially in the current climate. If you’re looking to get active whilst you #StayHome, then look no further. I have tried numerous home workouts over the last month, but I wanted to share with you the ones I found most enjoyable and beneficial…
