If you’re anything like me, you’ll have heard all about apple cider vinegar, but may have no idea what it actually is or what it does. With celebrities and influencers swearing by the stuff, when I was offered to try New Nordic Apple Cider Vinegar Gummies for 30 days, I couldn’t say no. I wanted to see what all the fuss is about, but not before talking to nutritional consultant Theresa Cutts.
“Apple cider vinegar is a liquid made from cider apples that are then cold-pressed into a must,” explains Cutts. “The must is then fermented into vinegar by adding the ‘Mother of Vinegar’, which is an acetic acid bacteria,” she continues. ‘Mother of Vinegar’ reportedly contains the good bacteria, nutrients, proteins and other beneficial properties that apple cider vinegar is famous for.
Traditionally, apple cider vinegar was simply used as a home remedy for minor illnesses like sore throats. Today, it’s believed to assist weight loss, joint health and digestion. “When taken regularly, people have reported that they have improved digestion, better metabolism, [and] better joint health,” Cutts told Cohorted. However, “when taking it for health, it is important to ensure that the vinegar contains the ‘Mother’,” if you want to see these benefits.
People who struggle with the taste of liquid apple cider vinegar (guilty) will much prefer New Nordic’s gummies. I quite simply loved the taste and looked forward to taking them every day. While I didn’t experience any weight loss or notice improved digestion during the 30 day period, my skin was definitely clearer than usual. And that seems like a good enough reason to take them every day for the rest of my life. Ultimately, results and benefits differ on a case by case basis. Considering they do no harm, I strongly suggest seeing what they can do for you.
