There’s no doubt about it, but this can be one of the most challenging times of the year to plan an outfit and create that perfect balance between looking stylish and preparing for the unpredictable weather.
One morning you open the curtains and the autumn sun makes it seem like summer never went away, the next day, one glance out of the window and it’s grey skies and pouring rain as far as the eye can see… [/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]What to wear? You despair having to dive into your wardrobe and attempt to correspond your outfit to the ever-changing weather. You so badly don’t want to let go of that summer dress you bought at the end of August (the one you never got the chance to wear) and at the same time you know it’s not yet cold enough to throw on that chunky knit jumper! You decide on jeans and a t-shirt, one step out of the door and straight away you realise it’s far too cool for short sleeves. You turn back inside and once again, here you are staring blankly into your wardrobe. You now know it’s too cold to wear a t-shirt, but the only other option is that thick puffer jacket. At this point, you feel like you’ve exhausted all options and climbing back into bed is seeming like the best solution.
Behold, the answer to all your never-ending winter wardrobe dilemmas: the shacket! A cross between a shirt and a jacket, the shacket mimics a shirt but is worn and styled in the same way as a jacket. Usually slightly oversized and made of a wool-blend, the shacket is chunkier than your typical shirt, but more lightweight than a heavy-duty winter coat, making it easy to layer over jeans and a t-shirt for added warmth whilst elevating a basic look, or even to slip on over that summer dress you’ve yet to wear!
