The Perfect Recipe for Pancake Day

With Pancake Day upon us, here is the perfect recipe for you to make the most out of your batter with a fullon pancake feast.

Happy Pancake Day!

Is it just me or does Pancake Day get bigger and better every year? I cannot understand why we don’t have a Pancake Day every month… Everyone knows that pancakes are so tasty and so versatile. That’s why Shrove Tuesday is the best. You can go all out and eat both savoury or sweet pancakes whilst feeling guilt free.

Classic American Pancakes

Serves:
2-4

Difficulty:
Easy

Cooking Time:
15-20 mins

Ingredients

3x Large Eggs
110g Plain Flour
140ml Milk
1x Table Spoon of Baking Powder
A pinch of Salt

Method

Step 1

Separate the egg whites and the yolks into two separate bowls.

Step 2

Add in baking powder, flour and milk to the yolk bowl and mix together to form a batter.

Step 3

Whisk the whites with a pinch of salt until they thicken enough to form stiff peaks.

Step 4

Fold the egg white mixture into the batter carefully.

Step 5

Head a non-stick frying pan and pour roughly a ladle full of the mixture into the pan. Once the first side is golden, flip the pancake to cook the other side. Repeat until all the mixture is used.

Step 6

Pile up your pancakes onto plates, add toppings of your choice and enjoy!

Toppings

Pancake toppings are definitely personal preference. Whether you’re a traditional lemon and sugar person, or can’t resist half a tub of Nutella, it’s all guaranteed to be delicious.
Try fresh berries, honey and syrup to mix things up.

If you’re looking to switch things up a bit, then why not try mini pancake stacks! They are super easy to make and always work out well.

Using the same recipe as above, but using less batter per pancake to create smaller, thicker pancakes. Then stack them on cocktail sticks and garnish with your favourite toppings!
