If you’re anything like us, we got absolutely sucked into the high society drama full of corsets, love and scandal that season one of ‘Bridgerton’ provided us. On March 25th season two was released on Netflix, much to our excitement. Without spoiling the ending of the first series for those who haven’t seen it, let us tell you…there are some questions we need answering! We fully intend on whipping out our corsets and binge-watching both seasons at the start of the month and we highly recommend you join us.
Fancy a fright? Next on our must-watch list is the upcoming horror film ‘You Won’t Be Alone’, which hits cinemas on April 1st. Directed by Goran Stolevski in his directorial debut, the film follows a young girl who takes the form of a peasant she kills in order to see what life is like for others. With this horror focusing on witches, it certainly stands out from the usual vampire and ghost stories that flood the horror-movie market. Produced by Kristina Ceyton, who produced the legendary horror ‘The Babadook’, this promises to be sensational.
It’s that time of the year where A-Listers gather to celebrate another extraordinary year of music. Yes that’s right- it’s the Grammys! This year’s celebration will certainly be worth waiting for, after the original date was pushed back due to coronavirus worries. The new date of April 3rd (1am April 4th for us in the UK) will see nominees such as Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish and Abba battle to win the prestigious awards. Music aside, we also cannot wait to see what show-stopping runway looks will be gracing the red carpet. You will be able to stream the ceremony on Apple+ TV. So, get your glad rags on in the comfort of your own home and tune in!
Coronavirus also caused another release date to be pushed back, this time for upcoming historical spy drama, ‘Operation Mincemeat’, starring ‘Pride and Prejudice’ heartthrobs Colin Firth and Matthew Macfadyen, which is due to hit cinemas on April 22nd. Set during the Second World War, this film depicts the true events in which the Allies attempted to hide the invasion of Italy. If you want a film with themes of tension, romance and espionage, then this tale of depiction is the one for you.
On April 28th, the highly-anticipated ‘The Offer’ will hit our screens. Directed by Derek Fletcher, and released on Paramount Plus, this 10-episode miniseries follows how producer Albert S. Ruddy created one of the most iconic films of all time: ‘The Godfather’. Whether you are familiar with how this film came to be or not, we highly recommend you give this series a go. Alongside financial problems, the mafia themselves had their own thoughts about the making of the film. This series will certainly be drama-filled. Whilst you’re at it, give ‘The Godfather’ a watch. You can’t have too much of a good thing!
April promises to be a golden month full of shows and films to feast your eyes upon. Join us by getting cosy on the settee or glammed up for a cinema date and enjoy!
