Looking back I really regret ditching my film camera as it’s such a joy to look back through albums filled with my childhood. Tanned faces smeared with ice-cream whilst on a holiday, sleepover birthday parties and unwrapping a Barbie aeroplane at Christmas. Nothing compares to the excitement of waiting a few weeks after returning from a holiday or trip to see what your photos have turned out like and then filling up an album to look back on to bring the memories flooding back years later.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]Up until now, I’ve been using disposable cameras on my trips. I recently decided to up my game and ask for an Olympus MJU ll for my birthday, which has a price tag of around £200. It’s my goal to start taking film photography seriously as I much prefer the nostalgic outcome in comparison to often underwhelming digital shots.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]On a recent holiday to Croatia, I took along three Kodak Porta 400 films as I fell in love with the results of sample images that I’d looked up online beforehand. The combination of the Olympus MJU ll and Kodak Porta 400 film did an incredible job at giving me the 90’s beach holiday vibe that I was after by giving the perfect amount of exposure with bright pops of colour.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]When it comes to developing your films, I always find that Snappy Snaps do a great job and have a speedy waiting time of just one hour. Prints tend to be expensive so I opt for transferring my images to a CD before picking out my favourites out at home to be printed later on.
