I will be keeping in the loop about this year’s World Gin Day as I am a real gin lover. I am really interested in the broad range of unique brands and the variety of flavours. Below are some of my favourite gin recipes. This ranges from a simple and delicious Gin and Tonic to a more fruitful cocktail. Be sure to tag me or Cohorted Cult in your own G&T’s on the 11th June. I look forward to raising a G&T with you to celebrate!
A Simple and Delicious Gin & Tonic
Ingredients
1.5 or 3 ounces of Hendricks Gin
200ml FeverTree Original Tonic Water
Ice Cubes
Cucumber Slices
Method
For a G&T which you know will hit the spot, begin by pouring either a single or double shot of Hendrick Gin in a glass, with lots of ice. Top with tonic water of your choice (I love FeverTree!) Make sure you garnish with some cucumber slices, as this really brings out the flavour in the gin. If you are looking for a fresh and thirst-quenching drink, this is the one for you.
English Garden Cocktail
Ingredients
Gin (preferably Dry Gin) – 30ml
5 mint leaves (bruised)
2 tsp of Elderflower Cordial
2 tsp of lemon juice
Cloudy apple juice (for topping up)
1 long strip of cucumber
Method
This is probably my favourite Gin-based cocktail. It is the perfect easy day-drinker, for a long afternoon in the sunshine. Firstly, mix the mint leaves, gin, elderflower, and lemon juice together. Add in the apple juice and stir well. Garnish with the strip of cucumber before serving. If you can, try and use Dry Gin, this means the flavours are from natural botanicals, meaning you really tase the essence of the English Garden vibe!
Pink Gin Iced Tea
Ingredients
1 chamomile tea bag
100ml Pink Gin
100ml Spiced Rum
100ml Elderflower Cordial
100ml Pink Grapefruit Juice
Ice
Thyme (for garnish)
Method
This is for the Gin lover who wants to try something a bit different! This spicy, fresh, and fruity cocktail really makes for the perfect drink for a large crowd. Brew the chamomile tea bag with 500ml of water, remove the bag and leave to cool. Pour into a large jug with the pink gin, rum, elderflower, and juice. Add ice and thyme before serving.
Singapore Sling
Ingredients
1 chamomile tea bag
25ml Dry Gin
25ml Cherry Brandy
25ml Benedictine
50ml Pineapple Juice
25ml Lime Juice
Sparkling Water (to top up)
Ice
Cocktail Cherry (to garnish)

Method
For a classic Gin cocktail, the Singapore Sling is perfect for a sunset downer. Pour the gin, cherry brand, and Benedictine into a mixing glass. Add in the ice, pineapple juice and lime juice and stir. Top with sparkling water and add the cherry and pineapple to garnish.
